In a strategic move to boost the UAE’s export capabilities, the Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Ministry of Economy (MoE) held a high-level meeting at the Thara Centre for Entrepreneurship to discuss ways to streamline the issuance of certificates of origin and improve export services.
The meeting, attended by Mohamed Ali Al Janahi, Acting Director General of Ajman Chamber, and H.E. Badriya Yousef Al Maidor, Assistant Undersecretary for the Support Services Sector at the MoE, focused on implementing advanced digital solutions that would reduce bureaucracy and enhance business competitiveness. Also present were Faisal Al Khouri, Director of Strategy and Future Department, and Fatima Al Awadhi, Director of the IT Department at Ajman Chamber.
Al Janahi praised the Ministry’s efforts to foster a supportive economic environment, stating that collaboration in simplifying export procedures is crucial to strengthening the global reach of UAE-based companies. He emphasized that enabling faster, more efficient issuance of certificates of origin would significantly aid private sector entities in expanding their presence in regional and international markets.
This initiative forms part of the UAE’s broader “Zero Government Bureaucracy” program, aimed at transforming public sector processes to be more agile, digital, and business-friendly.
Key outcomes from the meeting included recommendations to:
- Strengthen integration between relevant government and private entities
- Exchange best practices and technical expertise
- Develop a highly efficient, flexible, and innovative export system
- Hold regular joint meetings to identify challenges and co-develop solutions
The session concluded with a shared commitment to continuous dialogue and cooperation between federal and local authorities, reaffirming their goal to create a seamless and robust trade ecosystem.
