Starting July 25, 2025, Pakistani citizens holding diplomatic and official passports can now enter the United Arab Emirates without a visa. This new arrangement has been confirmed by both countries and is now active across all UAE airports.
Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, shared the update after meeting UAE’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The decision follows the agreement signed in June during the 12th session of the Pakistan-UAE Joint Ministerial Commission held in Abu Dhabi.
The agreement also works both ways. UAE officials with diplomatic and official passports can now travel to Pakistan without needing a visa. These changes are designed to make official visits and government work easier for both countries.
This update does not apply to regular passport holders. Pakistani citizens traveling for tourism, business, or personal reasons still need to follow normal visa procedures.
Pakistan and the UAE have maintained strong ties for years. Over 1.7 million Pakistanis live and work in the UAE, and thousands visit each year. The visa waiver is another step in improving cooperation between the two nations, especially in areas of diplomacy and trade.
Officials say this move will help improve communication between both governments and support more frequent meetings and projects in the future.
