Expanded UAE Visa-on-Arrival Policy for Indian Travelers

February 28, 2025by Muhammad Muneeb

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has extended its visa-on-arrival facility for Indian passport holders, simplifying travel for both business visitors and families. As of February 13, 2025, Indian nationals with valid residency permits, visas, or green cards from six additional countries—Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, and South Korea—are now eligible for a visa upon arrival in the UAE.

This update, announced by the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security (ICP), enhances the scope of a prior initiative that granted similar privileges to Indian passport holders with valid permits from the United States, United Kingdom, and European Union member states. The goal is to strengthen economic, cultural, and business engagement between India and the UAE.

Seamless Entry for Eligible Visitors

Indian travelers who meet the new criteria can now bypass the pre-visa application process. Upon landing at major UAE entry points such as Dubai International Airport and Dubai World Central, they will receive a visa-on-arrival, provided their passport has a validity of at least six months and applicable fees are paid.

Visa Fees and Duration:

  • 14-day visa: AED 100
  • 14-day extension: AED 250
  • 60-day visa: AED 250

Facilitating Tourism and Business Growth

This revised visa policy is expected to encourage more Indian visitors, further boosting tourism and investment in the UAE. Given India’s significant expatriate presence in the country, the ease of access will also benefit professionals and entrepreneurs looking to engage in business activities within the region.

Immigration and travel experts suggest that the policy change will enhance bilateral ties and offer greater flexibility for skilled workers, families, and investors. As a global financial hub, the UAE is continually refining its visa policies to attract international talent and visitors.

Strengthening Global Links

By expanding visa-on-arrival eligibility to a wider range of Indian travelers, the UAE is reinforcing its position as a globally connected business and tourism destination. The initiative is designed to make short-term travel more convenient for families of UAE residents while ensuring smooth entry for eligible professionals and tourists.

For Indian nationals who do not meet the new eligibility requirements, the UAE continues to offer multiple visit visa options.
