Dubai Rewards Veteran Nurses with 10-Year Golden Visas

May 13, 2025by Muhammad Muneeb

Dubai has unveiled a new initiative offering long-term Golden Visas to nurses who have devoted over 15 years of service to the emirate’s healthcare system. This directive, issued by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, was announced on May 12, 2025, aligning with the global celebration of International Nurses Day.
As part of a growing effort to recognize and reward the contributions of frontline workers, Dubai will now extend the prestigious 10-year Golden Visa to nursing professionals employed by Dubai Health. This announcement reflects the government’s appreciation for those who have consistently demonstrated commitment to patient care and public health in the UAE.

Sheikh Hamdan, who also serves as Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, praised nurses for being the driving force behind a resilient and compassionate healthcare system.

“They are not just caregivers; they are the heart of our medical infrastructure,” he stated.

The Crown Prince emphasized that this initiative not only celebrates the dedication of healthcare workers but also reflects Dubai’s long-standing mission to cultivate a supportive and inclusive environment for professionals across all sectors.

This decision follows a series of similar recognitions in the UAE. Notably, in 2021, Golden Visas were granted to frontline medical workers and their families. More recently, in 2024, Sheikh Hamdan also launched a Golden Visa initiative for exceptional teachers in private schools, announced on World Teachers’ Day.

The alignment with International Nurses Day further reinforces the UAE’s focus on recognizing essential service providers. The day, observed globally on May 12, honors the tireless efforts of nurses in shaping better health outcomes and communities.
With this announcement, Dubai reinforces its vision of valuing professionals who contribute to its social and healthcare development. Long-serving nurses are now being rewarded not only with gratitude but with security and opportunity for the future.
