The United Arab Emirates government has officially approved the new ‘Emirati National Identity Strategy,’ which was unveiled on Thursday at the UAE Government Annual Meetings 2025 in Abu Dhabi.
This significant national plan aims to boost national pride, reinforce a sense of belonging, and strengthen family cohesion. It was developed through a collaboration between the Ministry of Culture and the National Projects Office of the Presidential Court.
H.H. Sheikha Mariam bint Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan said: “The Emirati national identity is a legacy we take pride in and a responsibility we carry in our hearts. It embodies the spirit of the Emirati people and their deep-rooted belonging to their nation and values.”
The strategy is founded on three main pillars and highlights five core values, such as respect, ambition, and generosity. The plan includes 13 key initiatives that will be implemented in sectors like education, media, and culture.
Salem bin Khalid Al Qassimi said, “The Emirati National Identity Strategy reflects commitment to the leadership’s vision of nurturing generations deeply rooted in their values and heritage.”
A new National Identity Committee will be formed to oversee the strategy. This body will coordinate the efforts across all entities to ensure the plan’s goals are successfully integrated into society.
