Sheikh Hamdan Confirmed Dh1 Billion Support Plan for Dubai Businesses

April 2, 2026by Muhammad Muneeb

Dubai has introduced a financial relief package worth Dh1 billion aimed at providing support to businesses, workers, and residents amidst rising costs and administrative challenges. The relief measures, which began on April 1, 2026, are specifically designed to ease the pressure on different groups rather than applying universally across the board.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, made the announcement after chairing an Executive Council meeting. He assured that Dubai’s growth story remains intact, even amid global challenges, and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to providing stability and confidence to its people and business community.

The relief package focuses on simplifying administrative processes, such as easing residency permit procedures and reducing waiting times. Additionally, businesses in the hospitality sector will receive direct financial relief, with certain fees being deferred. Customs documentation deadlines have also been extended, helping businesses with logistical operations.

Key Points:

  • Total Package Value: Dh1 billion
  • Rollout Period: April 1 – over 3 to 6 months
  • Customs Grace Period: Extended from 30 to 90 days
  • Tourism Dirham: Deferred for 3 months
  • Hotel Sales Fees: Deferred for 3 months
  • Government Fees: Postponed for 3 months (full list pending)
  • Dubai GDP (2025): Dh937 billion, up 5.4% from 2024

Dubai’s economic performance remains strong, with a GDP of Dh937 billion in 2025, reflecting a 5.4% increase. Sheikh Hamdan emphasized that the relief measures aim to sustain this growth trajectory, focusing on building an economy that is resilient, adaptable, and prepared for future challenges.
