Dubai Unveils ISEZA: A Pioneering Free Zone for Sports and Entertainment Businesses

March 12, 2025by Muhammad Muneeb

Dubai has announced the launch of the International Sports and Entertainment Zone (ISEZA), a groundbreaking industry-dedicated free zone cluster set within the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) Free Zone. The initiative marks a significant step in strengthening Dubai’s position as a global hub for sports and entertainment businesses.

A Game-Changer for the Industry

ISEZA is the first-of-its-kind free zone cluster in the UAE and globally, catering exclusively to businesses operating within the sports and entertainment sectors. The free zone will facilitate licensing for a wide range of business activities, including sports management and marketing, event management, talent representation, and media broadcasting. Additionally, it will foster emerging fields such as e-sports, AI-driven sports technology, and fan tokens.

“The launch of ISEZA within the DWTC Free Zone will foster a dynamic ecosystem, empowering sports and entertainment businesses, startups, and entrepreneurs to thrive. ISEZA members will benefit from the free zone’s prime location and access to valuable networking opportunities through our diverse events and exhibitions calendar,”

said Khaled AlFahim, Vice President of Asset and Investment Management at Dubai World Trade Centre.

Dubai’s sports industry currently contributes approximately $2.5 billion annually to the economy. By attracting international and regional sports organizations—including federations, associations, and leagues—ISEZA aims to accelerate the industry’s growth. The zone will also serve as a hub for global brands, rights owners, sports and talent agencies, artists, and social media influencers.

Damir Valeev, CEO of ISEZA, emphasized the initiative’s broader social impact.

“Driven by the UAE’s vision of business development with higher social impact, we believe it will further contribute to the promotion of active sports and a healthy lifestyle in the UAE overall.”

He highlighted that ISEZA will provide a unique environment for hosting sports exhibitions, museums, academic programs, and community projects in key locations such as the Dubai World Trade Centre and Dubai Expo areas.

Comprehensive Business Support and Collaboration

ISEZA will offer its members corporate and legal support, working closely with major UAE authorities such as the UAE Ministry of Sports, Dubai Sports Council, and the UAE National Olympic Community. Businesses joining ISEZA will gain access to world-class infrastructure, flexible business setup options, and strategic collaborations that will enhance their operational capabilities.

Dubai continues to solidify its reputation as a leading destination for business and investment. Entrepreneurs looking to establish their presence within ISEZA can explore business setup services in Dubai to navigate the licensing and registration process efficiently.
