Dubai has introduced a groundbreaking certification initiative, the ‘Dubai AI Seal,’ to establish trust in artificial intelligence (AI) solutions and foster reliable partnerships between government entities and AI companies. Under the directives of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Deputy Prime Minister, the initiative aims to strengthen Dubai’s position as a global hub for AI innovation and collaboration.
Developed by the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence (DCAI), the Dubai AI Seal will serve as a mark of credibility for AI companies, giving them a competitive edge in government procurement and major national projects. Certified companies will be authorized to display the seal across digital platforms and marketing campaigns, signifying their reliability in providing secure AI services.
Key Features of the ‘Dubai AI Seal’
- Mandatory for Partnerships: AI companies must secure the certification to collaborate on UAE and Dubai government projects.
- Application Process: Companies licensed in Dubai and specializing in AI can apply for free through the official portal www.dub.ai.
- Evaluation Criteria: Applications will be assessed based on six factors, including company activities, employee expertise in AI, current and future projects, and partnerships with public and private sectors.
- Unique Serial Number: Each certified company will receive a unique serial number as part of the certification.
Khalfan Belhoul, CEO of Dubai Future Foundation, emphasized the strategic importance of the initiative: “This initiative will help create powerful partnerships between the public and private sectors, locally, regionally, and globally. It will help drive new economic opportunities by leveraging AI to better serve the economy, society, and the future we aspire to.”
The Dubai AI Seal initiative is designed to:
