The 24th annual Business Excellence Awards were held in Dubai on 24th of April and hosted by the Department of Economic Development of Dubai with patronage of H.H. Shiekh Mohammad bin Rashid, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai along with Deputy Ruler of Dubai Maktoum bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Chairman of Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation.
The awards were divided into 3 categories, Dubai Quality Award (DQA), Dubai Service Excellence Scheme (DSES), and Dubai Human Development Award (DHDA) set for the most successful entrepreneurs, SMEs and business setup in UAE.
A total of 40 companies won the awards for their outstanding performance and business excellence in year 2017.
The coveted Dubai Quality Award 2017 was bagged by Emirates Gas and Transguard Cash while the Fujairah Police General Headquarters, Aster Hospital – Mankhool Branch, the National Bank of Ras al-Khaimah, Gulf Medical University, Global Green Bridge Contracting and Deyaar Owners Association Management won the Dubai Quality Appreciation Award by leading UAE’s Government, Healthcare, Finance, Education, Construction and Services sectors with the highest performance.
His Highness Shiekh Maktoum also awarded the best representative entities, the Northern Emirates and French Business Council in Dubai with Dubai Quality Appreciation Award.
In the Dubai Human Development Award category, 5 independent sectors succeeded with the highest score, Dubai Courts, AW Rostamani Group, Union National Bank, Al Ain Hospital and Corniche Hospital in the Government, Trade, Finance, and Healthcare sectors respectively.
In the same category, Network International (Finance), Aster Pharmacy Group (Healthcare – Pharmacy), Al Gharbia Hospitals (Healthcare – Hospitals), British Orchard Nursery (Education) and Thumbay Group (Service) collected the Dubai Human Development Appreciation Award from His Highness Shiekh Maktoum.
18 top brands were also proclaimed winners in the Dubai Service Excellence Scheme, starting from Arabian Automobiles – Nissan, The Bagel Bar Coffee House, Eros Electricals, National Bonds Corporation, Pure Gold Jewellers, National Bank of Ras Al Khaimah, Dnata Travel Services, Al Fardan Exchange, Aafaq Islamic Finance, Al Jaber Optical, Danube Home, Life Pharmacy, Springfield, India Palace Restaurant, Nine West, The Face Shop, Aswaaq and Global Village in the Automobiles, Café, Electronics, Contact Center, Jewellery, Banking Services, Travel Services, Money Exchange Services, Services, Opticals, Furniture, Pharmacies, Clothing, Restaurant, Footwear, General Retail, Hypermarket and Leisure & Entertainment sectors.
Following the DSES Awards, 3 more winners were announced in highest overall happiness index given to Arab Bank for Investment and Foreign Trade, Aafaq Islamic Finance and Dubai Islamic Bank.
